Bhubaneswar: At least two personnel of the Odisha (SOG) Special Operations Group on Saturday was injured in the ongoing weapon battle with Maois in the forest bordering Boudh and Kandhamal District, said Director General of Police Abhay.
The condition of the two personnel was stable and they were appointed to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, DGP, who accompanied injured police personnel in the helicopter, said.
The battle of weapons broke out in Uma’s forests along the border of the Boudh-Kandhamal district in the morning when security forces launched an allowance operation in the area based on specific information, IG (operation) Amitav Thakur.
“During search operations, CPI members (Maois) opened a fire in security forces, where two sustainable SOG commands were bullet injury,” said DGP, added there was also information about injury to red rebels in the meeting.
DGP, who was touring to Malkangiri and Coraput Regency to review the anti-lwe activity (left-wing extremist), cut the program at Sunabeda in the corner and rushed to Padel on Boudh.
Abhay said he accompanied police personnel who were injured along with a doctor in helicopter to Bhubaneswar.
DGP thanked CRPF to rush some of his troops to the meeting location, and the BSF pilot that flew helicopters despite bad weather.
