Mangaluru: Norma 2% random passenger sampling from non-risk countries to undergo a RT-PCR test has detected five positive cases so far in a month.
Random tests were carried out at Mangalore International Airport on arrival.
According to data available with TOI, on January 10, 2022, around 415 passengers in Mia were identified by various airlines for RT-PCR tests on arrival.
Among them, five people with a negative Covid report from each boarding points were tested positively, said Dr.
Ashok H, The Nodal Officer for Covid-19 in Dakshina Kannada.
“Random testing has stopped some of the lost cases that might deploy Covid-19.
Most of them are tested positively from the Gulf countries,” said Ashok.
Those who test positive must be in the compulsory quarantine.
International passengers from non-risk countries and those who are not tested on arrival have been asked to be quarantined themselves and tested later.

Therefore, we ask every passenger to be quarantined and tested later.” Guidelines The Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Family, issued on November 30, made him obliged that travelers from countries exclude risky countries, will be allowed to leave the airport and monitor their health during the arrival for 14 days.
