2 stps will be ready 6 months before the deadline

Noida: Two waste treatment plants (STP) tend to operate in the city on February 28 next year.
The Noida Authority has set the September 2022 deadline for STPS, which is being built in the sector 123 and 168 and will treat 180 million liters of waste water in a day (MLD).
At present, the authority operates four stps in the city.
They are located in the sector 50, 54, 123 and 168 and have a capacity of around 200 MLD at all.
Authority also has several oxidation ponds for waste treatment.
Because of the rapid population growth and increased real estate activity over the past decade, the need to add to the sewerage system is felt, officials said.
Authority has employed private consulting services to design water supply and sewerage systems.
The consultant has emphasized the need to regulate the capacity of 411 MLD at the end of 2021.
The authorities began working on building the largest STP with the capacity of treating 100 MB of wastewater in the 168 sector, and the other with a capacity of 80 MLD in sector 123, in September last year.
While the 168 STP sector was being developed at a cost of Rs 143.6 Crore, the other required the authority to issue Rs 115.4 Crore.
Although both sectors have waste treatment facilities, additional plants are needed because the authority has a sector intended by 128, 129, 130, 135, 150 and 151 for group housing projects.
Commercial complexes have also been approved in these fields.
Authority officials Noida said more than 70% of civil work finished on both sites.
The administrative building is being built in the current sector 168, while gravitational mud thickening is being developed in Sector 123.
Head of General Manager Rajiv Tyagi said the progress of all important infrastructure projects reviewed last week.
“This project is on track.
The civil structure is almost ready in both places and we are sure to assign two stps in front of the specified deadline,” he said.
