Noida: Two people have been arrested for allegedly distancing themselves in flat in sector 70 on Wednesday and fled with jewelry and cash worth Rs 10 Lakh, police said on Friday.
The police also managed to recover stolen goods from the captured duo.
Keeping the police, the house belongs to Kalyan Mondal, an additional general manager at the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).
“On Wednesday afternoon, the wife of Mondal Jyoti Mondal and their two children were at home when the robbery occurred,” said Elamaran G, Deputy Police Commissioner (ADCP), Central Nida.
He added that around 3:30 p.m., someone knocked on the door and daughter Mondal went to open it.
Two masked criminals caught him in the neck and began to shout to hand over all valuable items.
“He could barely shout and remind his mother,” the officer said.
ADCP added that a case was registered with the suspect below 323 (voluntarily caused injury), section 342 (wrong delivery) and part 392 (robbery) IPC.
“CCTV recording from the scanned area and in one clip, one of the accused was identified as Vikas Singh (22), indigenous people of Farrukhabad.
The team was formed to arrest him and after conducting a search in a hiding place, he was arrested from Ghaziabad on Friday morning,” said Eamaran.
During the investigation, it was found that Vikas worked as a caregiver in the Gurukul Building in Noida.

The police also arrested Naveen and restored valuables and stolen motorbikes used in the crime.
