Kolkata: Bicycle taxi riders and their preaching drivers were destroyed to death by civilian compactors when the bike slipped on a soaking tram line near the Park Circus Seven-Point Crossing on Monday.
When the two riders fell onto the road, they were under the vehicle.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m.
at the Jamnagar road intersection, meters from the seven points intersection.
The Rider, Chandan Yadav (32), is a resident of Narendrapur, who works as a taxi driver’s driver and has joined a new bicycle taxi application.
Pillion Rider, Nabin Jhunjhunwala (39), is a resident of Garawan Road and has a construction business.
Both have their helmets, police said.
According to the police from the Beniapukur police station and the East Guard, the bike, towards Park Street, was within the speed limit.

MD Sajjad, a shopkeeper, said only a house keeper who was usually deployed at that time.

The police said they were trying to revive the signal.
“The problem of synchronization on a seven-point signal will be resolved soon,” said an officer.
