Chandrapur: Acting quickly, the branch of local crime (LCB) Sleuth on Monday night arrested two shooters involved in Raghuwanshi shopping shooting incident.
The defendant’s duo has been identified as Ankush Varma and Amit Sonkar, who shot Goon Aakash Andhewar three times in the extensive daylight on Monday afternoon.
As suspected, the shootout turned out to be a revenge attack in retaliation to the murder of Mafia Kingpin Suraj Bahuriya, who was killed last year.
LCB In-Charge Ballasaheb Khade said the SP Arvind Salve instruction, the police gathered information about the alleged shooter and sent a team led by Psi Sandeep Kapade after them.
“One of the defendants was arrested on Monday night from the city of Ballarpur, while others were rounded late at the outskirts,” he said.
The two defendants have been handed over to Chandrapur City police for further investigation, Khade added.
According to the source, Suraj Bahuriya was a coal kingpin and the illegal liquor mafia and was shot dead by Aakash Andhewar and gang in the daylight in Ballarpur in August 2020.
Total 10 was accused of being arrested in the case of Bahuriya and Andhewar, who was injured in a shoot on Monday , is the main defendant.
Andhewar along with the other four was released on a guarantee, while five were still in prison.
Bahuriya baying rival gang for blood after their kingpin murder and after Andhewar as soon as he was released from prison.
The duo has tracked Andhewar in the Raghuwanshi complex and shot him threefold on Monday.
Andhewar injury has been hospitalized in Nagpur and learned to get out of danger.
In the video virus on social media, he was seen throwing a threat to rivals that he would soon return and would reply to the offer on his life.
