Noida: Two workers, including a woman, died after a portion of a building under construction collapsed to them in Noida on Tuesday, police said.
Two other workers were also injured in the incident that occurred on private property in Blok D sector 26.
They had been hospitalized, said a police officer.
The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Bai (35) and Bharat Patel (50), both the native of Chhattisgarh.
Maya (30), from Bihar, and Rameshwari (32), from Chhattisgarh, was injured.
“The four workers are rented by Delhi-based contractors.
They work in the basement of the building when some collapse and they are stuck under the rubble,” said a police spokesman.
“They were then taken to the hospital where two of them died,” said the spokesman.
The body has been sent for post mortem and other legal proceedings in this case being carried out, the police added.
