Ghaziabad: A two-year-old girl was destroyed to death by the car on Tuesday night at Kavi Nagar’s Mahendra Enclave.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Radha, Sitaram’s daughter who worked as a laundry man at Kavi Nagar.
The police have sent the body to autopsy and the report is awaited.
A team of the Forensic Science Laboratory was also called to check the accident, said a police officer, added that further investigation was ongoing.
Vikas, Uncle Radha, said that he played with other children from the colony outside when a white Dzire Swift car came and destroyed it.
“The driver should be careful.
Other children do not accept injury, but we lost our daughter,” he added.
Vikas said that soon, they took him to the nearest hospital for medical attention but the doctor said he died on arrival.
“We also told the police and filed a complaint against the defendant,” he added.
Sanjeev Sharma, Sho, Police Station Kavi Nagar said that on the basis of complaints, a registered FIR against unknown people underneath 279 (Ruh driving) and 304A (causing death due to negligence) IPC.
“Our team is checking CCTV footage from the nearest area to identify the car number,” added the officer.
The child’s body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.
