Ranchi: Someone on Thursday allegedly beat two Jammu and Kashmir traders while trying to force them to shout “Jai Shri Ram” and “Pakistan Murdabad” at Hathikhana Colony under the Doranda police station in Ranchi.
The victims were Bilal Wani (35) and Sabir Batt (36), both residents of the Pahalgaon police station at Jammu and Kashmir.
Wani has filed a complaint with the Doranda police station in this matter.
The police have arrested the defendant identified as Raj Kishore aka Kishori, residents of obedient roads in Doranda.
Wani said when she, together with Batt, reached the Hathikhana colony, Kishori tried to force them to shout “Jai Shri Ram” and “Pakistan Murdabad”.
He said the defendant began attacking them when they refused and they were only saved when the locals intervened.
Wani said a similar attack had occurred with other Kashmir youth several times in the past.
The police sent them both to local hospitals for adequate care.
Wani said, “As soon as we started to display our products before the customer in Doranda the defendant approached us and asked to shout slogans if we wanted to stay here.
He began to hit us with fists and feet while asking his brother for a gun to shoot me.” Wani said He is also this citizen and has all the right to stay wherever he wants.
He mentioned that he had visited Ranchi for the past 20 years to sell Woollens.
Senior Ranchi supervisor of Police Surindra Jha said, “The defendant in the case of Raj Kishore aka Kishori has been arrested.
He is a drug addict.
The police are sensitive to all residents’ salvation, including those who visit this place.”
