Mahoba: At least 20 dogs are poisoned by several people in a village in the Shrinagar area here, police said on Monday.
A pine was filed in this connection against unknown people based on complaints by the Head of Basaura Sukhnandan Prajapani Village, and dead dogs buried, said Sho Anil Kumar.
Some people thought to feed dog bread mixed with toxic substances in the village on Saturday and Sunday, Kumar said.
Prajapati said at least 20 dogs had died so far, and the number tended to rise.
HariCharan head development officer said the problem was being examined.
