20 Lakh Vehicles may be junked in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Nearly 20 Lakh Old vehicles in Maharashtra can be removed to reduce congestion and pollution after the State Exit with standard operating procedures in several days on the vehicle policy policy.
This policy was launched nationally by PM Modi on Friday.
“Although the center has launched the policy, the state must issue its own guidelines.
We have studied the design of the policy and issuing SOPs should not need a lot of time,” said the State Transportation Commissioner Avinash Dhakne.
Other officials said the state government would implement central policy, which offered incentives to lock.
Scrapping will volunteer for the owner.
The rules will apply to commercial vehicles of more than 15 years and private cars / bikes older than 20 years.
One of the advantages of this policy will help overcome the problem of abandoned vehicles, or ‘khataras’.
“The local city agency can be an implementation authority to cleanse the khatars like that from the road and send them to Broomards approved by the government.
This will help decorate the road and increase the carriageway,” Dhakne said.
The significant vehicle population volume will go for memo because there is no policy like this before this.
“This policy mandates that our memo of the old government vehicle and polluted 2022, heavy vehicles in 2023 and private and commercial vehicles must be sent to junk goods in 2024,” said the Senior Transportation Department official.
After the country comes out with guidelines, the Department of Transportation will ratify the arrangement of the scrapping center throughout Maharashtra.
Each scrapping center will be a one-stop solution to remove private or commercial vehicles.
The whole process will be digitized, with a CCTV camera films shooting.
For example, the owner of a private car whose vehicle over 20 years old can only hand over the car to the official vehicle cutting center, sit and relax.
The scrapping process will be done scientifically, spare parts can pick up prices, oil, coolers and other materials that can pollute will not return to the environment.
During the scrapping process, the chassis number will be taken before the memo sent to be recycled.
This will speed up the deregistration process.
Also, vehicle data will be uploaded on the Venan portal and the deregistering car will be completed on the same day.
The scrapping center will remove the car parts and separate them into rubber, plastic, iron, etc.
The owner can get prices for tires, batteries, tool kits, cylinder CNG, etc.
The final certificate for photographing / deregistration will be sent to the owner.
digitally.
At present, there is green taxes in Maharashtra for more than 15 years vehicles.
After the new Scrappage policy is implemented, RTO will carry out strict checks to ensure people pay green taxes and also get fitness certificates for older vehicles.
