Thane: The fire broke out in the city of Powerloom Bhiwandi here on Wednesday, destroying nearly 20 godowns where used goods were stored, said Civic officials.
No one was injured in the flames, which erupted around 6:30 a.m.
in the warehouse located in the Fatima Nagar area, said Bhiwandi Fire Officer Nizampam Municipal Rajesh Pawar.
More than 100 warehouse warehouses are located in the area and around 20 of them were destroyed in the fire, officials said.
Three fire extinguisher machines and because many water tankers rushed to the place and the flame was controlled around 11:30 a.m., said Pawar, added that cooling operations are currently underway.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, he said.
