Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parifahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) intends to eliminate around 200 additional buses every day, provided the state government subsequently relaxes the norms of Covid-19.
At present, transportation body abolishes 1,000 buses throughout the city of Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and rural areas every day.
A transportation official said that they were waiting for the state government to announce relaxation on the sidewalk.
“There is talk about increasing timing of shops and restaurants.
After completion, we will increase the fleet with an additional 200 to250 bus.
However, it is solely based on administrative decisions.
All buses will continue to attach to a capacity of 50% unless conflicting decisions are taken,” Add the official.
Officials said that because of the monsoon, all depot managers, drivers and conductors were told to ensure that the bus was examined correctly before the start of the trip to put aside damage.
The official said that the conductor and driver had been told to keep the front bus gate closed during the trip.
“The back door to enter and the front door to come out.
Often people tend to take a bus from the front, which is not permitted.
Also, passengers are asked to wait for the bus to stop before going down and do not take unnecessary risks.
Passengers must be patient and follow all regulations,” Add it.
