Coimbatore: Because Covid cases increase exponentially, 200 additional beds have been established at ESI Hospital.
The hospital already has 566 beds in two blocks, opened on two occasions after broken pandemics.
Extra beds include 28 beds with oxygen facilities, which are arranged using the number of penalties 3lakh stored by anticipatory assurance seekers to the hospital, Dean said Dr.
M Raveendran.
The Judge of the High Court M Dadapani last year directed the guarantee seekers to deposit a penalty to a government hospital as Covid-19 aid.
“We set up 200 bedroom facilities within 72 hours after getting instructions from the Collector Coimbatore.
We use the auditorium parking lot to set the third block for Covid maintenance,” Dean said.
Meanwhile, City Corporation also expanded the number of beds at the Covid Care Center.
This has created a 200-bed covid care center in government universities.
The number of beds can be doubled if the situation appears, said a corporate official.
The Civic body also plans to establish Covid-19 treatment centers in two more places.
City Corporation Health Officials said that most fresh infections were caused by deployment in family members.
“An infected person can infect 80% of family members.
We have not found the main cluster on the market or industrial unit.
As a precautionary measure, the collector has banned the sale of retail vegetables in the wholesale market in Mettupalayam Road.
This will help reduce the crowd and prevent the spread there , “he said.
