New Delhi: Southern corporation on Monday told the Delhi High Court that he had 1,200 trees that were described in an area and had launched a special drive to ensure all the trees were released.
In a written statement submitted before the Judiciary Najmi Waziri, the corporation said it had identified 1,736 trees in Vasant Vihar which requires concrete removal.
“In 70 trees, nails and cables hung around have been removed and in 24 trees, anti-termite drugs have been sprayed,” said the civil body.
The southern corporation also convinces the high court that a trip to the tree deconcretise in the area will continue.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Forestry has notified the High Court that the tree officer will conduct a joint survey in Vasant Vihar to identify each tree concentrated and inform PWD and SDMC to take steps.
The court recently recorded what was nicknamed “Viktimization of Trees” and demanded an explanation from the body of the Civic and the Delhi government about why hundreds of trees had been convached.
It acts on a request by activist Bhavreen Kandahari who is looking for tree preservation.
The court was shocked by several photos shown by the Petitioner’s advocate, Aditya Prasad, and noted that “getting to the tree trunk, nails have been embedded and metal cables have been hung along the tree.” The court had previously noted that “this road concretization at all from the direction of this court and NGT, showed ignoring the law not only by city companies but also by road maintenance institutions – Public Works Department” and directed them to submit Affidavit.
