2015 police Shooting Situation: Parkash Badal summoned by SIT

CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was summoned from the special investigation team probing the 2015 Kotkapura police shooting event to appear before it on June 16.
Badal has been the chief minister once the sacrilege and following police shooting events happened in Faridkot at 2015.
According to the summons, the nonagenarian pioneer was asked”to show up in person with all the appropriate record prior to the Special Investigation Team up-to-date 16.06.2021 at 10:30 am at PSPCL, Rest House, Phase-8 SAS Nagar (Mohali)” for evaluation of those circumstances.
Due to the summons, Harcharan Bains, chief adviser to the Shiromani Akali Dal presidentsaid,”We shall fully cooperate with the SIT.” Badal was contested in 2018 from the last SIT probing the issue.
He had said that the SIT stunt was”sexually motivated” and also an effort to defame him.
The Punjab government had shaped the new SIT headed by Additional Director General of Police L K Yadav to research the Kotkapura police shooting incident after the instructions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The newest SIT is exploring both FIRs enrolled on October 14, 2015 and August 7, 2018 in relation with the Kotkapura event.
The high court on April 9 this season also had quashed a report with a previous Punjab Police SIT to the 2015 shooting individuals partaking in Kotkapura on the alleged desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib at Faridkot district.
The court had directed the state government to establish a fresh SIT, with no Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, the Indian Police Service officer that had been a part of the previous team.
Singh afterwards took voluntary retirement following the court order.
Authorities had opened fire in a similar protest from Behbal Kalan, in addition in Faridkot, at which two individuals have been murdered.
Another probe is penalized in this situation.
The newest SIT has contested former police chief Sumedh Singh Saini and another police officials.
Meanwhile, the Congress MP Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday dubbed that the summoning of Badal from the SIT for a step in the Perfect direction.
“The demand of the hour will be to run a reasonable evaluation wherein the use of the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the then Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal along with the then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini are extracted outside,” said Bajwa at a statement .
“After the investigation has been finished within a month, then a program has to be submitted for daily hearing of this case prior to the trial court at Faridkot,” he explained.
Following the high court quashed the record of the previous SIT, a division of Congress leaders, such as Navjot Singh Sidhu, was targeting their own authorities for its alleged delay in shipping of justice in sacrilege and following police shooting events in 2015.
The Congress at Punjab has targeted on the Shiromani Akali Dal, that has been in power in the country, over the events.
