20,624 fresh covid-19 cases in Kerala, 80 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: For the fifth day in a row, Kerala recorded more than 20,000 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, but saw a decline in fatalities and a decrease in the test level of the test to 12.31 percent.
The state has recorded 100 deaths on Friday, while TPR is 13.61 percent.
On Saturday, Kerala recorded 20,624 new cases, pushing the infection casts to 33.90,761, while 80 deaths took the victim to 16,781, said Minister of Health George.
16,865 people have recovered from infection, taking total recovery to 32,08,969, leaving 1.64,500 active cases, the release of the state government.
Malappuram is the worst-affected district, recorded 3,474 cases, followed by Thrissur (2693), Palakkad (2209), Kozhikode (2113), Ernakulam (2072), Kollam (1243), Alappuzha (1120), Kollayam (1120), Kottayam (1120), Kottayam (1120), 1111) and Thiruvananthapuram (969).
From new cases, 98 were health workers, 112 came from outside the country and 19,487 were infected through contacts, with a contact source unclear in 927 cases, the release said.
In the last 24 hours, 1.67,579 tested samples and TPR were found 12.31 percent.
So far, 2,72,17,010 samples have been tested, he said.
At present there are 4,55,078 people under supervision in various districts.
Of these, 4,26,640 was in a house or institutional quarantine and 28,438 in the hospital.
There were 678 areas in the state with TPR above 10 percent, the release said.
