20K security personnel deployed at Bihar for Chhath

Patna: around 20,000 security personnel, including the police station central (CAPF), has been deployed in various locations throughout the state to avoid unwanted incidents during the Chhath celebration.
At least four CAPF companies, including Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel have been deployed in Patna, Bhagalpur, Aurangabad and Muzaffarpur for CHHAT.
This deployment will continue until Thursday.
According to the ADG police state (head office) Jitendra Singh Gangsar, at least 10,000 concents trainees have been deployed in several districts as needed.
Also, 2,500 participants of the Special Armed Police Training (BSAP) and the same number of housekeeping homes have been mobilized for the spread and control of the crowd on the road, Ghats and other places, especially along the round water body where worshipers will worship the sun Lord.
Overall, 19 commonly armed BSAP companies have also been pulled out of their barracks and other deployment locations for field assignments during Chhath.
Headquarters has also deployed 24 DSP ratings and 130 Inspectors and Officers Ranking Sub-Inspector in the field to order police with Chhat’s duties.
These security personnel will also ensure that the social distance is maintained and other Covid-19 protocols set by the central and state governments are followed.
Security personnel will also be involved in strict river patrols and traffic management so that worshipers and commuters do not face problems.
In addition, 14 National Disaster Response Style Teams (NDRF) have been deployed at various Ghats in the state.
The 9th Battalion Commander NDRF Vijay Singh said 14 teams consisted of around 600 personnel.
“They are equipped with boats, life jackets, buoys, and first aid kits,” Sinha said.
He added at all 105 ships moving on the river, including 70 on Patna.
Sinha said these teams also had deep divers for any emergency.
“Some Ghats have been identified as dangerous in Patna District.
Barricading has been done, but people are still at risk of living by navigating water by crossing the barricade,” he added.
Deputy Deputy Disaster State (SDRF) Deputy Commander K K K K Jha said their 665 personnel had been deployed at 99 locations in 25 districts.
“We have involved 300 rubber ships that have 3,000 lifetime jackets and 600 buoys.
Twenty-seven deep divers have also been deployed in strategic locations.
They continue to work in coordination with the district administration concerned,” Jha added.
