Chennai: A total of 281 companies have lined up for campus placements in IIT Madras for 2021-22, a 21% increase in the previous year when 231 registered companies.
Phase 1 of the campus placement will begin in December 1.
Although the Pandemic Covid-19 and Online Internship, the pre-placement offer (PPOS) received by students in IIT-Madras increased by 41 offers compared to the previous year.
“If we look at the number of companies registered for campus placement, the trend looks very positive this year.
The number of companies and job profiles offered increased compared to last year.
There is a good blend of IT software, core engineering, and r & company this year , “said CS Shankar Ram, Advisor (Training and Placement), IIT Madras.
Job profiles are also consistent in the last three years with companies that offer software and the role of core techniques, R & D along with analytic, consultation and finance, he added.
227 PPO has been made for IIT-Madras students for 2021-22 as opposed to 186 offers during the academic year 2020-21.
Qualcomm and Microsoft offer 18 and 14 pre-placement offers this year.
All students have done online internships this year.
“Increased PPO shows students and companies that adapt online fashion internships,” Shankar Ram said.
Startup actively offers an internship, he said and expressed hope that this would translate into placement too.
APT Portfolio, Toyota Connections, MTX IT Consulting Services, De Shaw Group, Huawei India R and D are some companies that offer PPOS for the first time.
