PATNA: Patna University (PU) on Wednesday encouraged as much as 21 teachers into the position of associate professor and professor below the career advancement strategy (CAS) about the recommendations of this election committee.
A conclusion in this regard was taken at a meeting of their PU syndicate held in virtual style under the chairmanship of both vice-chancellor Girish Kumar Chaudhary.
The promotions were removed from the election committee at its meetings on February 26 and 27 last.
These promoted to the post of professor comprised PU examination control R K Mandal and retired sociology instructor Randhir Kumar Singh.
The syndicate also supported the conclusion of the academic council concerning the abolition of entry test for admission of pupils to the degree classes both below the traditional and self-financing manners.
The syndicate’s resolution to get a transitory regulation concerning the abolition of entry test for a single session in light of this Covid-19 pandemic is going to be delivered into the Raj Bhavan.
Following the chancellor’s acceptance, entrance to both the traditional and self-financing classes will be created on the basis of the marks obtained from the pupils in the Class XII exams.
The supply of conducting viva voce examination together with admission test for entry from self-financing classes was scrapped.
The syndicate also made a decision to alter the nomenclature of several classes of this university at the larger interest of their pupils.
The titles of classes such as MA/MSc in social work, songs, staff management and industrial associations (PMIR) will probably be transformed to Experts in social work, songs and PMIR respectively.
The syndicate chose to employ the state administration’s recent decision to boost the speed of honorarium being granted to the appointed guest lecturers.
The dilemma of reappointment of working pupil school members, whose services had been terminated prior to the summer holiday, has been also discussed in detail in the meeting.
