Chennai: Southern Railway has stopped 2,177 people from traveling on the suburban train in Chennai because they did not have a vaccination certificate since the rules began to apply on Monday.
The train says that only people who have taken two vaccine doses will be allowed to travel by suburban trains.
Commuter must produce a certificate to buy tickets and to update season tickets.
The number of 12 digits of Covid vaccination certificates issued after the second dose is fed in the Unreserved (UTS) ticket system to publish a season ticket.
The last digit of the certificate vaccine number will be printed on season tickets.
Piercing on people without masks at stations and trains has also been intensified.
Thirty-one cases are registered, and the total fine of Rs 15,500 is collected.
