BELOGIVAVI: An alleged fox has bite and killed 22 livestock, triggering panic among villagers in Venkarapur in Mudalagi from Bellagavi.
The livestock department now provides antibiotics to livestock.

Cows, oxen and buffaloes have died for two weeks, raising suspicion among locals.
Officials suspect that these animals have died of rabies after being bitten by the fox of the animals banging their heads to the walls, digging mud using their feet, fear of drinking water, and showing other sympots related to rabies.
Ramappa Kallur, a farmer who lost two buffaloes, said many villagers had seen roaming foxes around the village.
“People were surprised to see animals dying for the past 15 days.
We have found a bite sign in this dead cattle,” he said.
M Kamat, a Taluk officer in the department, said more than 400 livestock had been given antibiotic injection to prevent infection.
The department has sent a sample of dead animals for testing.
