JAIPUR: A 22-year-old girl was supposedly raped here by an ambulance driver and his accomplice who lured her to the automobile after promising to offer her meals, authorities said Wednesday. The alleged incident happened on Monday, he explained. The accused drove into a secluded spot where they invited the girl, who’s wed, Moti Doongri Station House Officer (SHO) Surendra Pancholi stated. He said depending on the girl’s complaint, a case was filed against the accused under Section 376D (gang rape) in the Indian Penal Code and segments of their SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The driver and his buddy are taken into custody and are being interrogated, the SHO said. He said the girl’s statement was listed and her medical evaluation was done.
