Ludhiana: A 23-year-old man was brutally attacked with a sharp-edged weapon by a group of attackers in Shimlapuri for allegedly refusing to pay the exortion of Rs 50,000.
The man originally ignored the threat, but when he returned home from work on December 24, the defendant intercepted and attacked him.
The police submitted FIR on Monday.
The victim Ajay Kumar from Gobind Nagar, Shimlapuri, worked at the X-Ray Department of Personal Hospital.
He was hospitalized and police filed FIR in his mother’s statement, Savitri, against the defendant who was identified as Rahul Kumar from Gill Colony, Jinda, Koochi, King Hat and three to four legs of their unknown refused to give money.
After brutally attacked Ajay, they fled, and the family rushed to the hospital.
Shimlapuri Sho Labh Singh Sub-Inspector said that he accused Rahul Kumar to face at least seven different criminal cases and he had demanded extortion money from Ajay.
When asked why FIR was submitted after 16 days, Sho said that Ajay was unconscious and right now he could not speak because his jaw was broken.
Therefore, the police registered a case in his mother’s statement under 307 (an effort to kill), 324 (voluntarily caused wounds with weapons or dangerous facilities), 384 (extortion), 326 (voluntarily causing sudioity with weapons or dangerous facilities) , 511 (efforts to commit violations), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (riots, armed with deadly weapons) and 149 (each member of the Assembly who violated the law guilty of committing a violation carried out on the prosecution of the general object) of the IPC.
The police will immediately catch the accusation, he added.
