Patna: One Gautam Kumar (23), allegedly involved in Cyberfaud, was arrested from Mandir Road under the Patrakar Nagar Police Station area in Patna on Sunday.
Police recover RS50,000, six cellphones, laptops, a large number of debit cards and credit, bank check books, identity cards issued by the government and sports bikes from ownership.
Sho Manohoranjan Bharti said Gautam, a native of Mirchak under the police station in the Nawada District Police Station, told the police that he was a gang member involved in deceiving people by making them call and sending emails or SMS to win lotteries, gifts, blocking debit cards and other needs.
Bharti said three colleagues managed to escape.
Citing Gautam, he said Santosh Kumar from Mirbigha in Warisaliga, was the leader of their gang and his colleague Mukesh Kumar, Ravindranath Choudhary, Gajendranath Bhuiyan, Rakesh Kumar and Omkar had even bought cars and bicycles of money accumulating by stacked people.
“They live in two rental flats in Anand Palace’s apartment near the new bypass,” he said.
He said a pine had been put forward against nine people, including Gautam.
