Pune: The National Assessment Survey (NAS) to test the learning outcomes of children by the Union of the Ministry of School Education will be taken in more than 7,000 schools and 23,000 students throughout the state on Friday.
The exam within two hours will test students for all subjects depending on the class of standard III to X.
For the lower class the exam will be carried out for 90 minutes and for a higher class the exam will be held for 120 minutes at MCQ format.

The survey beyond the score card and includes background variables to correlate students’ performance in various learning outcomes of vis-a-vis variables contextual variables.
This will be carried out by the Central Secondary Education Council (CBSE) as an assessment administrator for SMS III, V, VIII and X State government school students, assisted schools, private public and school government schools.
The Director of the Maharashtra State Education Research and Training Council, MD Singh, said that, “the survey will be carried out in a monitored environment in a sample school.
NAS findings will help diagnose student learning gaps and determine the intervention needed in education policies, teaching and learning practices.
Through its diagnostic report card, NAS findings help in capacity building for teachers and officials involved in submitting education.

In Maharashtra, schools and students have been chosen to appear for NAS by the Ministry of the Union based on the random sampling method.
Field researchers must report to school at 7:30 a.m.
on Friday while the observer will report at 8:30 a.m.
Singh said that all schools have been instructed to follow the appropriate Covid protocol, including the use of hand sanitis, masks, social distance between others during the exam.
Chosen schools must collect 30 students for a survey per standard.
For example, a school chosen for a class 5 and 10 surveys must call all students.
Among them, 30 each of the two classes will be randomly selected with chits.
The survey, in the form of written tests in language, mathematics and science, is for 39 lakh students from the 1.25 lakh school in the country.
