Madhepura: Unknown armed criminals allegedly shooting and killing a truck driver early Wednesday near Mirganj Chowk under the Murliganj (PS) police area in the Madhepura district.
Ainul Haque (45), a resident of Raiganj in West Bengal, was identified as a driver.
The incident occurred when the driver transported rice owned by a company based in Madhepura to Raiganj.
Motorbike-born criminal intercepted the truck and tried to rob a cash driver at the weapon point.
When he refused their offer and escaped from the scene, they shot him.
Truck cleaners told the owner of the company, who later told Madhepura and Muriganj police police.
A team rushed to the scene and took the driver who was injured to Madhepura for better care, but the victim gave up on his wounds on the road.
Shrawan Kumar, company owner, told a similar incident that happened to and around the same place before, where criminals looted wheat worth Rs 6 lakh published in a truck.
According to sources, a case has been registered in this relationship at Madhepura PS against an unknown person, and the police are conducting an investigation.
