Chennai: Tamil Nadu will offer Covid-19 vaccination 24 hours across the state of Monday and Greater Chennai Corporation will offer vaccination door threshold over the age of 80, Minister of Health MA Subramanian said on Saturday when the country reported 1,668 cases compared to 1,668 Friday.
Twenty-three people died because of viral and state infections have 19,391 still under care.
The minister on Saturday inaugurated a 24-hour vaccination facility on the DMS campus in Chennai.
“(Facilities like that) will (arranged) in all medical hospitals in the district.
In Mayiladuthurai and the PERAMBAL, the district hospital will handle vaccination all the time.
This drive will not only increase vaccination, but also creates awareness,” Subramanian said.
While all in Kodaikanal has received at least one dose of vaccine, Palani has covered 98% of its qualified population.
Vaccination in tourist destinations and other religious will be accelerated, officials said.
On Saturday, Coimbatore reported an increase from 199 cases on Friday to 205.
Chennai reported 183 cases and Erode reported 152 cases, while all other districts respectively reported less than 100 cases.
At least 13 districts reported a surge in new cases during the last 24 hours, with the steepest increase reported in Nagapattinam, where cases rose from 36 on Saturday to 48.
Ramanathapuram reported three cases followed by five each in the screens and theny respectively.
Tirunelveli reported a sharp decline of 26 cases on Friday to15 on Saturday.
Of the 23 deaths, salmon, tirupur and Pulajottai reported three each, while Coimbatore, Namakkal and Tirupattur reported each.
“Death is still common among parents, especially those who are not vaccinated.
The risk is also high among people with uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension,” said Public Health Director Dr.
S Selvavinayagam.
Meanwhile, a vaccinated state of 3.4 lakh people on Saturday.
