Kolkata: Bengal on Monday received 24.17,850 covishield doses, the biggest consignment ever on certain days.
The state now has stock and good health officials hoping to maintain the momentum of vaccination.
Officials said they would target between five to six doses of lakh every day.
On Monday, almost seven doses of lakh were given throughout the state until the last report entered.
24 lakh plus-dose on Monday arrived in three shipments.
All bottles have been stored in the State Central Welfare Store in Bagbazar.
Sending bottles to the district vaccine shop will begin on Tuesday.
The source at Bagbazar Depot said that 24 pargana and North Kolkata will get the biggest shares each with 3 lakh and 2.2 lakh doses.
The state is expected to get around 1.3 crore doses in September.
This is the second when the first delivery for the month arrived on September 4 when the country received a dose of 5.1 lakh.
Depending on this stock, health officials said they could drive impulse vaccination in these days which would see 10 lakh and the above dosage was given throughout Bengal.
“We have not finished the decision about it.
Meanwhile, we emphasize regular but sustainable reach of 5-6 doses of daily lakh,” said the state family welfare official Ashim Das Malang.
Until Monday 4.4 Crore plus a dose had been given in Bengal, where 3.15 Crore was the first shot when the rest was the second dose.

“We can climb the number of sites that are close to 5,000 again as we did last Tuesday and the 10 lakh target plus a dose every day,” said a health department official.
