Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will place 248 artificial tanks in 166 locations to facilitate idols for 10 days Ganesh Utsaav throughout the city.
After the ban on immersion idols in the City Water Agency, this is the largest number of artificial tanks that will be placed by NMC throughout the city.
“From Saturday and level, artificial tanks will be placed on 13 places throughout the city to facilitate eco-dyeing friendly.
NMC will also use Civic Cops with the Water Agency to prevent idols in the lake,” DR Gajendra Solid Waste Management Management Tii.
NMC will also install artificial tanks in residential areas to facilitate immersion.
NMC will take volunteer assistance from various NGOs to create awareness about environmentally friendly soaking, he said.
All 10 NMC zones will save two standby tanks to replace the damaged tank, he said.
NMC will also use two cellular tanks for each zone to allow soaking on the doorway, he said.
The number of tanks will increase from the fifth day, Dr.
Mahalle said.
He said arrangements would be made for fast transportation from idols from artificial tanks to safer places.
