Panaji: Challenging the Goa Government to provide an unbroken power supply, Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday ensures Goa that the AAM AADMI Party will ensure the 24×7 power supply within two years forms a government in the state.
Insist that the unbroken power supply is not technically possible, his cave colleague Nilesh Cabral said that AAP tried to sanctify voters and make a voice bank.
Jain clearly had the top hand in the debate when he caught Cabral on the foot wrong several times, especially when Cabral said that Goa held power from Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh.
Minister AAP also managed to be under Cabral’s skin by provoking the BJP Minister with several references to “MLAS purchases and sales” in Goa.
“If AAP forms the government in the next two years, the country will show how 24 × 7 electricity will be given.
Otherwise, the minister of strength we will resign,” Jain said.
For this Cabral’s shot back and said the lum-hilly topography made it difficult to ensure a continuous power supply especially during the rainy season.
“It’s not that we don’t try to give a power of 24×7 in Goa.
We also do it and only during the rainy season that the interruption starts,” said Cabral.
“Goa will go bankrupt if free power is given to Goans.
We cannot become a debt state.” Hyped face-off between Cabral Goa and its partner Delhi Jain was held at The Menezes Braganza Hall in the state capital.
While the debate attracted thousands of online views, the presence in the venue was bad, with a large fence of Goa police personnel who guarded the participants in the bay.
This is most likely for the first time in India that the ministers of the strength of two states or trade union areas have been involved in public debate.
Cabral said that the state government worked towards an unbroken power supply.
“There are two types of disorders, one on the distribution side and the other is on the entry side.
In the next two to three years, because it takes time, we will be able to have unbroken power.
We cannot provide free power.
We can provide Subsidy power, “said Cabral.
Jain said that Cabral just made a reason.
AAP promises to provide free strength to consumers who consume up to 300 units of power does increase concerns about their impact on the dangerous Goa State Treasury.
Unlike the Delhi government which has high GST revenue collection, Goa’s income is decreasing.
Cabral said that unlike the Delhi power model that subsidizes low consumption users, the cave subsidizes all consumers by keeping low electricity tariffs.
In Delhi, the bill for consumption of up to 200 electricity units was eliminated while consumption between 200 and 400 electricity units was 50% discount.
The tariff slab in Delhi varies from RS 3 per unit to RS 8 per unit when in the highest rates are Rs 4 per unit.
Jain said that the pulse with power rates would not increase if AAP formed the government.
He said that the money saved drastically reduced transmission losses would help cover 300 free power units given to people.
Replying to BJP claims that only Delhi residents with a second home in Goa will benefit from free 300 units, Jain said that all who consumed less than 300 units had to choose AAP.
