Quepem: A 25-year-old woman from Assam, who was lured by Goa with a pretext of work, allegedly raped in a flat in Quepem on Wednesday night.
The police have arrested two people-sudhakar up, 63, a resident of Southeast, and Shambunakath Singh, 32, a resident of Delhi-Wednesday night after survivors to file a complaint.
Both rose and Singh was produced before Judicial Judge in Quepem on Thursday and returned in a five-day police custody.
Police sources said Singh had lured the victims to Goa by promising his work.
After reaching Goa on July 26, Singh accompanied him and took him to his sister’s flat, about 1 km from the city of Quepem.
On Wednesday, Singh invited his friend to ride to his sister’s flat and they drank liquor.
Later, victims of sexual harassment, police said.
Up and Singh was arrested after surviving a flat from flat and notify the police control room.
They have been charged under 376 (rape) and 343 (illegal confinement).
The incident came when Minister of Cave Minister Pramod Sawant faced his all-round criticism on Wednesday blaming Gangrape from two children on the Benaulim Beach in South Goa in the elderly and bear the responsibility of the government and the police.
“When children aged 14 years live on the beach all night, parents need introspection.
Only because children do not listen, we cannot bear the responsibility of the government and the police,” Sawant, who also held a home portfolio, has told the Assembly.
Four people, including a state-government employee, had been arrested for raping the two minors and Sawant said government staff had been suspended.
(The identity of the victim has not been revealed to protect its privacy according to the direction of the Supreme Court about cases related to sexual violence)
