Coimbatore: Coimbatore collector S Nagarajan arrested a 25-year-old Pudukottai indigenous, who had been arrested for murdering an 71-year-old girl and yanking gold jewelry, under the Goondas Act on Tuesday.Police identified the man as Vinod, a construction worker from Pudukottai. He had been staying at a rented home in Pannimadai at Coimbatore along with his spouse and daughter. He jumped into the home of this girl Market Street on April 17, killed her stole 10g gold jewelry such as foot studs, nose ring, a ring along with her cell phone. Police detained Vinod, who’d gone missing following the episode, from Karumathampatti on April 25. He’s lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison. The Thadagam authorities, that investigated the murder situation, had filed a comprehensive report on the collector and also advised that Vinod be detained under the Goondas Act. The rural authorities had detained Vinod before in connection with a murder case in Vadamadurai, resources added.TNN
