New Delhi: A 25-year-old man sank in the pool in a farmhouse in the South Delhi Maiden Garhi area on Tuesday.
The case is registered in this matter.
The police said that they received information around 9:30 a.m.
from the Safdarjung Hospital about the man, Shubham, was taken away to the hospital.
Further questions revealed that the deceased was a native of Uttarakhand.
He worked as a waiter in a hotel and stayed in rented accommodation in Mahipalpur.
A police officer said that the incident occurred during the gatherings held in the farmhouse.
“Shubham and his colleagues have organized a gathering at the farmhouse.
There is a swimming pool in the backyard of the farmhouse and him and his friends have entered the pool,” the officer said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said that after some time, his friends came out of the pool but found that Shubham was gone.
During the search, they found that he was sinking.
The 25-year-old victim was hospitalized in South Delhi by his friends where the doctor said he was dead.
“The deceased did not know how to swim,” the officer said.
During inspection, the police received negligence on the part of the farm owner.
“There is no soul saving equipment near the pool.
How did he then let the gathering like that,” the officer wondered.
The case below 304a (causing deaths from negligence) from the Criminal Code has been registered with the owner of the farmhouse.
