In comparison, on Friday TPR Gujarat was 7.1% – about three times lower than the city.
According to the Union of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Weekly TPR Ahmedabad was 16.2% for the period of January 1-7.
In the same duration, only four other districts recorded TPR more than 5.5% in Gujarat – Anand (6.4%), Kheda (5.7%), Rajkot (5.7%) and Vadodara (5.5 %).

Dr.
Mukesh Maheshwari, a member of the IMA Gujarat executive committee and a pathologist, said that the TPR numbers increased steadily over the past few days.
“The need for hours is to expand the net and cover all areas.
If we continue to get a sample of a certain area, it might not give us a true picture of a pandemic,” he said.
Dr.
Bhavini Shah, Head of Microbiology in Neuberg Diagnostics, said that TPR was above 10% over the past week.
“But we have to wait a few days to see if 22% is a deviation from the trend or the number really soars,” he said.
Experts say hospitalization remains low so far, but it does not provide conclareness for citizens.
Critical care specialists say the biggest difference between the second wave and a recent surge in the absence of hypoxia (inadequate oxygen supply) as a condition in the patient.
But those who have existing co-morbidity may be at risk, they add.
According to Ahna data, the member hospital has 119 Covid patients on Saturday.
From here, 96 or 81% are in the insulation ward, 18 or 15% in the high dependency unit and the remaining 5 or 4% of patients are in the ICU with or without ventilators.
“Patients who are hospitalized are mostly above 45 years, have comorbidity and vaccinated.
Those who use ventilators, especially senior citizens who are fighting against other diseases,” said an AHNA official.
