Guwahati: Minister of Assam Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma on Sunday said 26 private universities in the Territorial Bodoland (BTR) will be brought under the control of the government in the first phase of the provision and Bodo Sahita Sabha (BSS) regarding the development of the education sector in BTR according to the Bodo Accord .
“According to the request of the delegation, it was decided that 26 venture colleges would be taken at BTR in the first phase for the province,” said a statement from the office of the Minister of Chief (CMO).
The Ministry of Higher Education will examine the status of college, infrastructure, the existing faculty qualifications, the need for new recruitment and take appropriate action in this matter, he added.

“The decision was also taken at a meeting to create adequate Bodo language teacher posts in schools in the BODO area according to NEP 2020.
The creation of a single cadre will be carried out in all provincial governments and colleges,” CMO statement said.
Sarma said that the University of Bodoland campus will be established in Udalguri along with law science and universities in BTR, while decisions are taken to hold a special teacher feasibility test (TET) for BODO media.
The main minister was directed further to form an Advisory Committee with representatives of the WPTBC Department, Ministry of Education, Absu and BSS to oversee the right implementation of decisions taken during the meeting.
“Similar meetings will be held within six months to review the status,” said the statement.
