PUDUCHERRY: The Union land of Puducherry has thus far analyzed 9.9 lakh swab samples for Covid-19, using 8.7 lakh coming negative. The amount of samples analyzed, however, does not necessarily signify the amount of individuals examined as one person might have been tested a few times, said specialists. Many factors have to be considered while arriving in the proportion of the population analyzed, stated Dr N G Rajesh, professor of pathology in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer). “We cannot proceed by the amount of samples analyzed independently. Someone may have undergone many tests with no signs. Individuals who must travel really have taken the exam since it’s mandatory. There might be a significant chunk of people from the inside pockets not having been examined even after.” On Tuesdaythe land reported 1,237 new as 1,571 patients regained bringing the busy instances to 15,475. Of these, 13,591 are beneath house isolation. Twenty-six patients expired taking the death toll on 1,408. The land has thus far reported 98,219 instances of that 81,336 patients regained.
