2,650 dropouts are brought back to school in less than two months

Coimbatore: The Head Office of the District Head Education has managed to bring 2,650 ‘break up’ back to school since the second week of August this year.
Students, who are studying at school, assisted, matriculation and CBSE School, both absent for a prolonged period or not join any school after getting a transfer certificate from the previous school.
They were identified after their name was known in the general portal on the education management information system portal (EMIS), the central database on each school student.
Indicates that the unique ID will be produced on the EMIS portal when a student joins the school, an official says the ID will migrate from one school to another because students get a transfer certificate from school and join the others.
N Geetha, District Head Education Officer, said, “Unique ID can be used to track their students and schools.
If a student does not join any school after getting a transfer certificate, the name will be added to the general pool on the emis automatically.
They are generally considered drop out of school.
But many will join the Polytechnic after class X.
Those who fail in class X or IX will also join some industrial training institutions as well.
“While such details will not be available on the emis portal, he said, the teacher was asked to check .
Their parents are either through phone calls or visiting them directly the real reasons for the absence of school.
Many parents in rural areas, he said, have migrated from one place to another with their ward for work reasons.
“Because there is no physical class, they are waiting for school to reopen to make their ward join school.
We can identify students like that and make them join the Environment School so they can get textbooks and study at home.”
