NEW DELHI: Railway ministry PSU RailTel said on Monday it’s established video-based surveillance of railroad stations across 10 zones below the Nirbhaya Fund.
Thus far, 269 channels are coated and work is ongoing at 31 channels.
It stated tenders for the following 456 channels are encouraged.
This movie surveillance system (VSS) method is anticipated to guarantee better safety of passengers in railway stations and railroad property.
The PSU reported the centralised safety control area for IP-based VSS will show feeds.
“The CCTVs happen to be networked on optical fiber cable along with the video feed has been exhibited not just at nearby RPF articles but also in a centralised CCTV control room in divisional and zonal level.
The CCTV cameras of both channels and video feeds have been monitored in three levels to guarantee improved security,” it stated.
RailTel has also supplied a Network Management System (NMS) for tracking of server, cameras, UPS and switches that may be seen from any internet browser by authorised staff.
Puneet Chawla, leader RailTel, stated function for the job at 756 channels will be finished by March next year.
The video files will be kept for 30 days.
