Lucknow: At least 27 prisoners were ordered on Monday in connection with the violence that occurred in the Fatehgarh prison on Sunday after the death of a prisoner at Saifai Medical College where he was accepted after being tested positive for dengue fever.
The prisoners threw stones on the police and began a fire in the prison spot after hearing the death of a prisoner, Sandeep Yadav, son of Ranveer Singh.
According to police records, at least 20 police were injured in violence.
Lodging FIR at the police station Fatehgarh Kotwali, Jailor Akhilesh Kumar said the inmates used burning and vandalism after rumors spread that Sandeep Yadav detention died because he did not provide the right treatment.
“When I stopped them, they began to abuse me and took bricks and sharp objects with the intention to kill me.
They also grabbed my official cellphone and damaged the gate, CCTV camera, and chakra offices.

He said the prisoners set the most battery mounted on prisons which also caused an explosion.
He added that the prisoners also attacked Deputy Jailor, Shailesh Kumar Sonkar, and Warders prison with iron rods.
Kumar said one of the prisoners suffered an injury to his stomach after a fight between two groups of detainees at Barak Number 2.
The police said a pine had been submitted against 27 prisoners and one unknown person on charges of efforts to kill, Dakoitas, Dakta to cause death, riots, Riots with deadly weapons, voluntarily cause sad injuries to prevent public servants from their duties, and damage public property.
Security has been estimated at the prison spot and the Provincial Armed Constitutional Unit (PAC) has been deployed.
Meanwhile, senior officials, including the Commissioner of the Kanpur Division Raj Shekhar, IG (Kanpur range) Prashant Kumar, DG (Prison) Anand Kumar and Excavated (Prison) VP Tripathi met with prisoners and inventory situations.
