Chandrapur: The state malaria department has recorded 2 deaths due to dengue fever and 18 cases in the district so far in July.
After this, the city government and the Ministry of Health take intensive prevention measures in urban and rural areas to curb the threat of dengue.
The source at the Malaria Department informs that a total of 27 cases of dengue fever have been recorded in the district since January this year.
These include 19 patients from rural areas and eight of the jurisdiction of the city of Chandrapur.
Of the total cases, 18 reported in July only.
These include five of Chandrapur City and 13 from rural areas.
The source said before a dengue patient Priti Urkude from the village of Ukharda in Warora Tehsil had died while undergoing treatment in Sevagram in Wardha.
Another alleged bloody fever was reported from Nanda Phata at Korpana Tehsil on Sunday.
These patients were taken to a private hospital in Nagpur and reportedly died.
However, the cause of death has not been confirmed due to the lack of acceptance of reports, the official source told toi.
Meanwhile, Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted a massive dengue survey in the Arihant Nagar area in the city on Wednesday.
The team from the CMC health department goes home to check out water containers, cooling tanks and stagnant water.
A total of 157 people from 50 residences were also tested for dengue fever, but nothing was considered positive.
However, 12 households found to breed dengue fever larvae in stagnant waters in their place.
Containers contaminated emptied and reduced Larvisides added in five places.
People have been advised to observe dry days every week.
