Jaipur: More than 26 Lakh voters will decide the fate of 1,721 candidates for the position of members of Panchayat Samiti as the first phase of Zila Parishad and the selection of Pancir Samiti in six districts will be held on Thursday.
Of the 1,564 members of Panchayat Samiti, 521 Panchayat Samiti members will be selected in the first phase on Thursday.
Voters will be able to use their franchise at 3,599 polling booths in six districts – Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa and Sirohi.
The Commissioner of the Election of State P S Mehra told that in the first phase, 26.55 Lakh voters would vote their voices, which, 14.11 lakh were male voters and 12.44 lakh were female voters.
Nine voters included the third gender, he told.
In the Jaipur District, in the first phase, the election will be held in seven Panchayat Samitis including Kotputli, Paota, Shahpura, Viratnagar, Jalsu, Aamer and Jothwara.
