New Delhi: More than 7,000 employees belonging to 27 different offices from the Ministry of Defense and three services will switch from their current workplace in and around the Raisina Hills area to two new majestic buildings, officials said on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate two office complexes on Thursday, they said.
Two new multi-floor buildings, one in the Kasturba Gandhi Marg area and the other in Africa Avenue, has been built at a cost of Rs 775 Crore by the Ministry of Defense, officials said.
Two buildings have a total room of 9.60 lakh sq as a 9.22 foot lakh sq emptied by 27 offices in various hutments and office complexes, they said.
Fourteen offices were transferred to the Marg complex that had a built-up area of ​​4.52 feet SQ while 13 offices were transferred to the African Avenue building which had a total built-up area of ​​5.08 lakh legs, officials said.
The process to shift the existing office to new buildings will begin in the next few days, they said.
The new building, built by the Ministry of Housing and the Development of Urban as part of its Vista Center project, provides environmentally friendly environmentally friendly building environments, officials said.
The total land parcel needed for the new office complex is 13 hectares due to 50 hectares where the existing office is spread.
“The location and building room have been designed so that the existing trees have not been disturbed,” said an official.
Officials say having 27 offices in just two buildings will ensure greater efficiency, coordination and work environment.
In addition to office space, both buildings have provisions for multi-level car parking for a total of more than 1500 cars.
The Ministry of Defense has established a joint coordination committee under a joint secretary to coordinate various requirements of certain organizations, allocation of space and public facilities.
The Committee includes representatives from the Department of Military Affairs, the Defense Production Department, Ex-Services Department of Welfare (ESW), R and D Defense Department and three services.
