28 lakh gave the second dose Vax Miss in T’Gana

Hyderabad: In a new concern for health officials, around 28 lakh people in Telangana have missed the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine despite completing the maximum time gap between two doses.
Most of them skipped the second shot from Hyderabad.
The authorities are worried because the number of people who skip the cut-off date of the second dose vaccine grows.
According to health officials, there is a need to take the second dose of vaccines even though the omicron variant does not cause serious health problems.
In Hyderabad, the 5.3 lakh people were through their second dose, followed by 4.27 lakh at Medchal Malkajgiri, 3.93 lakh in Rangiteddy and 1.01 lakh in Kamunhdy.
“More than doubts, negligence in the part of the person to take a dose is what we are worried.
What they understand is that Omicron has emerged from countries with low vaccine coverage,” said Public Health Director Dr.
G Srinivasa Rao.
At present, the coverage of the two countries is 60%.
Forbid eight districts – Asifabad, Vikarabad, Adilabad, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Nalgonda, Nagarmurnool, Wanaparthy and Warangal – The second dose coverage in all districts is more than 50%.
Strangely, Karimnagar and not Hyderabad have the second highest dose coverage at 83%.
The Ministry of Health recently directed officials to provide Jab Covaxin to those who have not received the first dose.
For one month, the covaxin dose is only given for those who receive the second dose.
A few days ago, the authorities were told to give the first and second dose to those who qualified.
A request for Covaxin after the emergence of Omicron, officials said.
Even though the country has enough vaccine stock, a dose of covaxin is limited when compared to covishield.
