Hyderabad: The small outbreak of Covid-19 becomes more common in the state amid worries about the omicron variant and the next wave.
On Sunday, 28 students from medical colleges in Karimnagar were tested positively.
Worried about a surge, college has suspended classes and closes the hostel.
According to reports, hundreds of students have attended annual days on November 27 without masks.
Many of them develop symptoms and 43 are tested positively in the last two days.
This college has 1,000 students.
There are around 300 cases in educational institutions throughout the state in the last 40 days.
At the current level, the next surge can occur in mid-January and everything will depend on the behavior that matches Covid, the source said.
“The next wave will see half of what we have observed in the second wave, but the best is to avoid a big meeting,” said Health Director Health official G Srinivasa Rao has warned people about lowering guards.
He said that there was no need to worry, but ignoring the right behavior could cause a surge.
Meanwhile, the number of cases confirmed from the apartment in Puppalguda increased to 14.
Someone seemed to return from Delhi and was the first to test positive.
The authorities decided to test the RT-PCR drive in the apartment, which accommodated nearly 300 people.
On the other hand, there has been a small increase in cases throughout the city with an average of everyday cases reaching 75 of about 50 weeks ago.
