28 pairs of trains can be shifted to byappanahalli

Bengaluru: South Western Railway (SWR) is likely to shift 28 pairs of remote trains to Sir M Vesvaraya terminal (BYappanahalli third coaching terminal) in phase after the inauguration.
“Twenty-eight pairs of trains approved by the train board will shift to a new terminal.
However, this will be done in phase,” said an SWR official.
Officials say trains originating at stations such as Banaswadi, Cantonment and Kuram to places such as Kerala, West West, Assam and Tripura will shift in the first phase.
After this, several trains from the Yeshwantpur city train station and Bengaluru KSR will shift there.
In addition to the train, the train will also operate a new distance train from the Byappanahalli terminal.
Previously, the train had planned to allow private companies to operate a remote train from the BYappanahalli terminal.
The route identified to and from the terminal is: Okhla, Patliputra, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Tambaram, Shalimar, Hatiia, Jaipur and Guwahati.
The movement to shift several distance trains from two terminals of the existing rail to the BYappanahalli terminal is expected to increase the timeliness of the service and reduce the train.
It will also help the train to operate a long distance train from Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Minister Railways Union Ashwini Vaishnaw is likely to visit Bengaluru on September 5 (Sunday) and take a stock of the progress of the Byappanahalli train terminal which is ready on March 2021.
The third terminal is awaiting the date of the inauguration of the March 2021.
“All work has been completed.
Minister Railways Union will reach Bengaluru at 5 pm on Sunday and examine the Byappanahalli train terminal from 6pm to 19:00.
The inauguration of the terminal is likely at the end of this month or next month after receiving confirmation from PMO, “said an SWR official.
The Crore RS 314 Station building spread across 4,200sqm will serve with 50,000 daily footsteps.
It has seven platforms other than eight stabling lines and three pit lines.
Every day, 50 trains can operate from the terminal.
Rob was ready in October 2021 Rob 810m-long proposed in 2010-11 to connect the Sir M Vesvaraya terminal and Swami Vivekananda Road Metro station at Old Madras Road has not been completed.
The work stopped in 2012 after the Ministry of Defense refused to hand over the land and continued seven years later.
This project is scheduled to be completed on June 20, 2020 but is delayed due to lack of workers after the pandemic struck.
SWR officials said Rob will only be completed in October 2021.
