Lucknow: Nearly 40% of Uttar Pradesh is now free of Covid, the state government claims on Sundays.
The announcement came after 29 districts in the state reported that there were no cases of fresh or active Covid, according to data issued by the state government.
However, a covid patient from Rae Bareli gave up on infection on Sunday.
While 18 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, 31 people also recovered.
The number of cases of Covid active above is now in 235.
From new cases, each three were recorded from Gautam Buddh Nagar and Jalaun and two of Rae Bareli.
District-district declared Covid free by the government is Aligarh, Amethi, Amethi, Ayodhya, Baghpat, Ballia, Basti, Banda, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamuspur, Kaushambi, Lalitpur, MahaBi, Mathura, Mirzapur, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rombar, Shamli, Sonbhadra and Sitapur.
“Fresh infections have been reduced by more than 38,000 of its 38,055 peaks limited to April 24.
