Hyderabad: A total of 29 housing school students managed by government and junior colleges for girls in the Khammam District of Telangana have been tested positive for Covid-19, triggering panic among parents and teachers.

Parents were worried rushing to school and bringing home the ward.
District medical and health staff Dr.
B.
Malathi said they were tested positively fine.
The official said the students who tested were positively taken home by their parents to quarantine at home and they were all fine.
The parents of students tested negatively also took them home as a precaution.
Some parents attract school authorities for delays giving them this information.
This was the first time since the reopening of housing schools in the state last month that a large number of students tested positive.
The incident encouraged the authorities to increase the preventive measures of Covid-19 in a housing school.
Senior officials from various departments visit the school and request school authorities to ensure strict compliance with preventive measures such as maintaining social distance, wearing masks and use of sanitisers.
About 550 students study in junior schools and colleges.
Some parents say that the density causes the spread of Covid.
For 450 students who learn from grade 5 to 10, there are only 16 rooms.
Forty students sleep in each room after class.
The Dining Hall has a capacity for only 200 students.
Principal Lakshmi said more construction proposals were waiting with the authorities.
Educational institutions in Telangana are reopened from September 1.
However, the High Court allows the reopening of housing schools in the last week of October after the Ministry of Education guarantees that all prevention steps will be taken.
