Jaipur: To speed up the tracking of Omicron cases and other Covid variants, the state government expanded the genome sequence laboratory.
This will immediately start the Laboratory testing of the two countries in Jodhpur, which is expected to function from the first week of January.
At present, the only Lab sequencing genome at the Functional Man Singh Sawai Hospital (SMS) to identify infected corona variants.
The Ministry of Health maintains that each sample and each infected corona must be sent for genome sequencing.
“We are doing a genome sequencing of 50 samples every day at SMS Medical College.
Now, in Jodhpur we will start the same genome facility,” Vaibhav Galriya, said the Health Secretary to Ti.
So far, more than 2,120 samples have been tested positively for caring variants in the state, including Delta, Delta-like, Kappa, Alpha and Omicron.
So far, the sequencing of the 3,239 genome samples collected from various state districts has been carried out.
From them at least 2,128 samples have been positively tested for the variant of a concern.
Among the 75.79 percent of the infected delta, 15.37 percent found like Delta, 4.04 percent is alpha and 1.79 percent is Kappa, 1.36 percent is B.1 and more than one percent affected by omicron .
A health department official said that because many variants of concerns have been reported from the state, testing genomes have become important.
It’s important to expand the laboratory network.
Recently in a meeting of Covid reviews, Galriya said, “The work on the Genom sequencing lab is underway and is expected to operate from the first week of January.” Tender has been issued and work orders have been given to speed up the project.
At the end of December, the machine for laboratories in Jodhpur will be given and lab staff will be trained at SMS Medical College in Jaipur.
“We sent samples to the genome sequencing to Jaipur, but our sample genome sequencing would only be done here,” said Dr.
Balwant Manda, head of medical health workers (Jodhpur).
