Chennai: With all districts except Coimbatore reported less than 300 new Covid-19 infections, Tamil Nadu on Thursday saw 3.211 fresh cases and 57 deaths.
It takes a cumulative case for 25.10 lakh and tolls to 33,253.
A total of 3,565 people recovered from infection and dismissed leaving 33,665 people still undergoing treatment for Covid.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the number of people who took the vaccine jumped to 1.25 lakh after falling to 28.270 on Wednesday.
Vaccination numbers increase after the center allowed the country’s immunization wing to take a dose of 1.5 lakh from the depot of general medicines in the period.
From new cases reported on Thursday, 141 were children under 12 and 447 people over 60.
One case was a passenger who returned from West Bengal through the road and was tested positive.
Coimbatore continued to be a hotspot with 366 new cases while two other districts in Tamil Nadu-Erode with 251 cases and cases of Salem 205 were reported under 300 and Tiruppur with 125 cases.
Eight Western District reported 1,367 new infections took the total number of people who were still under care for Covid in the area of Tamil Nadu to 14,614, which was almost 44% of the country’s active cases.
As on Thursday, Nilgiris has a 4.4% lifespan level while Coimbatore continues to see a 3.8% front rate.
Six districts recorded cases below 200 and 29 districts reported less than 100 cases each.
Ramanathapuram reported the lowest by 10 cases followed by perumbalur with 17 and dindigul with 20.
